how strong are eagle h beam rods?
i have eagle h beams with arp 2000 rod bolts how much wheel hp are they good for? I have a b series and wanting to do a billet 6765 and looking to make high 750-780 whp anyone know the real limitations or had rod failure
people have made that whp on them before .... i think BONER BEN used them? i think they are a pretty strong rod and have proven themselves but people will tell you to get something else.... i am using them in my 650whp build all day
good to hear this i didnt want to take my motor apart especially since its still running strong i just want to throw some more power to it.

I have heard of people making 1000+ on them... I used them in my last build with high 500's whp, and Im using them in my current build looking for 750-800whp... I have yet to see someone break a set in a Honda engine from just having too much power...
i made 870hp for a whole season on them..then turned it up to 1074hp and they held... now the same rods are in my street motor making 700hp.. they are prob about 3-4 years old
I'm not praising Eagle rods. I'm just posting my experience. I've made 1000whp on the dyno. Two pulls at this power level. Street raced multiple times at 700whp - 800whp. Ran the standing mile at 185mph - 202mph. All on pump E85. 9000RPM for the standing mile runs. 8500RPM for the dyno/street. Two years in the motor. No issues with the rods or bearings. I will say this. I sleep easier with Manley, Pauter, Crower, Carillo, etc.
I know of a car, well actually a guy that posts on the board from time to time. He used Eagles for awhile, maybe even Eagles with the small bolts......anyways, his car ran 9's and during a miss-shift it spun up to around 15k rpms and the Eagles held together, actually, the entire engine held together and he made a few more passes on it. I used them for awhile in a small little turbo engine with not one problem. I cant complain and I believe they are pretty dang good rods for the price. I would definitely use them in another setup.....
The story I was told was never posted up, that I know of. I did find this old thread where a screenshot of a datalog was posted. The screenshot is not showing up, but if you read through the posts you can kind of get an idea of what they were revving the Eagle rods too. This engine also made good power and ran well into the 9's back years ago.
The same guy is who I was originally talking about that told me the story of "mechanically over-revving" his engine.....

I meant to post up the link to the thread I was talking about....

that is a little testimonial to what Eagles can withstand.
