Opinions on D16Y7 turbo setup
Below is my current parts list. Anyone else have a setup similar to this that can comment on it's reliability and/or power output? Not looking at making much power up front. Just to add a little power to the car for now. I do plan on purchasing a second SOHC block to build up for higher boost numbers over the summer. As usual I would like to keep costs down.
- T25 turbo (used from Nissan Silvia)
- turbo manifold (any suggestions? maybe cast, no external gate)
- Injectors (440-550cc. any OEM injectors?)
- eBay intercooler and piping (modified to fit, then powder coated)
- Y8 intake manifold
- 255lph Walbro fuel pump
Both the hot side of the turbo and the manifold will be ceramic coated before install. As far as engine management goes, I'm going to try and find a used Hondata. If I can't find one before install time, then an OBD1 conversion running one of the tuning programs will do fine I think.
Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

run some dsm 450's in it, a HF manifold with an adapter plate and have a professional tuner tune it. also get ngk bkr7e spark plugs for it (part number 4644) and gap them to .028"
take your time and make sure you have everything you need and read read read. till you understand it.

I've had turbo cars before, so I know what to expect with tuning, etc. I'll have to travel a couple hundred miles to get it tuned, but I am prepared to do that.
