Default b16 turbo gas mileage

i was just wondering if its normal to be getting horrible gas mileage after getting tuned? i have a b16 with t3/t4 turbo tuned on crome and im getting around 21mpg which really sucks. its mostly stock just has s2 IM and 66mm s2 TB, and ITR cams. i dont really get on it much and i have been doing mostly hwy driving but im still getting horrible gas mileage. i thought generally you get better gas mileage with turbo so long as you stay out of boost and are tuned properly, if you guys think its the tune please do tell as i won't hesitate to get retuned.

get a wideband o2 and see what your afr's are cruising out of boost...aim for 14.5 -15.5.....

ok cool thats what i plan on doing tomorrow just to verify on my end. my plugs are pretty fouled out so yeah im pretty sure running rich has something to do with it. i was talking to another tuner and he said he was getting around mid 30's mpg on a b16 when out of boost and of course that number went down when he did go into boost so im gonna give him a shot and see what he can do, we'll aim for 14.5 to 15.5 afr when in vaccuum and see what happens from there.

yeah i wish. come to find out i was idling at about 8.78 afr which is ridiculous. but now after a small tuning session my car wont stay idling and the speedo stopped working. we tried uploading my original map back in and still getting the same problem. we already tried putting the chip with my original map in another ecu as well and still no luck so this really sucks.
