I've gotten a CEL for knock sensor. How do I fix it? I've checked the plug to see if it's in all the way, good. I've checked the connection on the ecu, good. The wire from the plug to the ecu is good. What else should I look at to remedy this problem?

Sometimes it'll come on, sometimes it doesn't. That has happened only a few times though. It usually comes on while normal driving, at about 3500-4000rpm on the freeway.

check if the knock sensor is broken. have u done that yet?

 

how do I check that and what am I checking for...i.e. will it appear/feel broken? Where the sensor is located, that is a pretty tight area.

 

yeah 1st check if it's physically broken. if it isn't, i believe there's a test for it in the helms. i'm not sure though.
