I've gotten a CEL for knock sensor. How do I fix it? I've checked the plug to see if it's in all the way, good. I've checked the connection on the ecu, good. The wire from the plug to the ecu is good. What else should I look at to remedy this problem?

Sometimes it'll come on, sometimes it doesn't. That has happened only a few times though. It usually comes on while normal driving, at about 3500-4000rpm on the freeway.

try replacing the sensor w/ a good one.

 

could the sensor actually be working...and you are experiencing knock?

 

I don't believe I'm experiencing knock...then again I don't know what I'm supposed to be listening/looking for. If I do have to replace it, is it an easy/cheap fix?

i think they are about $100 from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com , but it is generally a pain in the **** to change because of its location on the back of the block. Good luck.

 

sounds like popping/pinging coming from the motor. are you running 93 octane gas?

 

I have an extra one lying around...$35 shipped...off a 2000 si.,

 

I'm running the California 91 octane. I'll listen for those sounds tomorrow. Thanks folks!
