Hey guys whats up.. I recently just did a tranny swap on my d16y8 to a y7 tranny but now in top rpm my 3 grinds to go in... What should i do.. PLZZZ help

 

its very common in d series hydro trans. Just get a new trans or fix it by getting new gear sets.

 

synchros are worn, and you need a a set of synchros

i've seen aftermarket brand new ones run for about 145,

and if you tear down the tranny yourself, your gonna end up buying or renting more tools to do the job, i would' scrap the tranny and get another one, non-ex/si trannies tend to be cheaper as well

 

Yeah, I got the grind on my Y8 if I shift too fast. Oh well, hopefully I can turn it into an excuse to get a new motor in there :-P.

 

What fluid did you put in the transmission? Hopefully Honda MTF. But yeah it sounds like the brass blocker ring on the 3-4 synchro is worn out.
