My syncro in 3rd gear is going out i know that, but when i shift into 5th gear sometime it slips out. no other gear does it, but sometime it is hard to go from 4th downshifting to 3rd. will my tranny blow soon. how can i fix this or should i buy a whole new tranny.

It seems to me that it's more of a shift fork problem. Have a specialist take a look before you make any decisions. It may end up being just a couple hundred bucks to fix, or it may be more economical to simply invest in a new tranny.

Brand new from Honda, they are $2200, but you can get a good condition used one for like 400 for an LS, and prolly like 600 for a GSR. A Type R used will run you up to $1000
