just did a ls-v swap and it seems everything is going well..but cant pass 7k grand like its not bouncing it just wont pass it... its pretty quick btw... but why does it start to lose power when it goes 7k?!?!! im using a gs-r ecu and its good, vtec is pretty loud... cel comes on and its knock sensor.... but can anybody tell me why i cant go pass 7k!!!??

its a built in fail safe basically...a limp mode.

 

what can i do for it to pass 7k?? is there a way to disable this limp mode?? would a chipped ecu work??

 

fix the damn knock sensor issue.

your car is in limp mode like i said which means lower rev limit and no vtec

we have no way of telling if the sensor is bad or if the wiring is wrong.

 

oh okay well.... im gonna try use another engine harness and see whats up! maybe wires were cross because this harness has alot of splicing...

 

my friend has a lsv and he doesnt have a knock sensor and its still engages vtec and passes 7k??!

 

ill put money on him running a chipped ecu with the knock sensor turned off.

 

no bro gsr ecu not touched! knock sensor dont come on and some sensors are not even plugged in and its still fast! wtf?! idk but yah bro we did everything in my car check all the sensors all the wiring seems good.. and still taps at 7k! and we used a chipped ecu and still the same!

 

well if its throwing a code that is the issue so you need to resolve the code period.
