first, why are type-r cams out of the question. why go through all the effort and put in oem cams. you're not gonna make power without some sort of decent cam. i guarantee you that.

you can buy used type R cams on here or some used blox cams for $250 or less all day long. I'd just wait, you're going to need to get it tuned twice which is a waste so I'd just wait unless it was my ride to work, then just put in gsr cams, baby it for a few months, then install better cams and get it tuned.

You won't make 190whp with stock cams ( with exception of ITR/CTR ) Especially with the C/R you listed. Do it right or do it twice.... or three times....You'll thank yourself in the end. And believe it or not your straight exhaust is going to make slightly less power than and will sound like poop. At very least BuddyClub Spec II which has a resonator in the B-pipe. Jus Sayn..

id have to disagree 180-190whp is very easy to make with b20vtec with the right set up.........will look into getting a better exhaust

https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/stock-b20vtec-dyno-graph-2468940/

so i am assuming gsr cams are the way to go until i can afford a better set up

So, your trying to say a buddyclub ll exhaust will help to produce more power than a straight through 2.5?

Those are very small cams. They are fine to get you up and running, but you are going to want to upgrade as soon as you start pushing the motor.

gsr cams are more aggressive on a Stock P30 B16a3 head thats why they are considered a good and cheap upgrade for B16 heads. I was able to get 202hp by only using ITR intake cam which I got for like 200 brand new. Save your money and get yourself at-least some ITR/CTR cams.

his compression with the rs pistons and gsr head depending on how much the head is decked will be 12.1 thats plenty of compression to make 190 whp pending on cams

Thats why we all say he needs better cams... you need better/aggressive cams to go with such compression. At least itr/ctr!!

I would if I were you. You'll just be wasting time and money by installing the pistons right now and tuning it with b16 cams, which are a down grade in a gsr head. I would wait till you better cams and you'll only have to tune it once.

Do it now. Then when you get the cams you just have to drop them in and re-tune it. If not, you will have to pull the motor apart to install the new slugs.

ditch the GSR manifold as well. take your time and do it right the first time. wait an extra 2-3 months to afford aftermarket cams. Dont try to rush into things and ahve to do things twice. Do it right the first time
