Rebuilding engine Plan Help!

I'm planning to rebuild my 103,000 mile engine due to excessive oil burning.

Since this is my first time, what parts are usually replaced? and parts sent of to machine shops?

replace rings, bearings.
depends on the condition of the block

replace the valve seals too.

send the block off to a machine shop for a hone and everything else they said ^^

do a leak down test first.
