no you can take it off with no troubles i have no cover on mine at all, take the 3 bolts out and pry it from under the valve cover(theres a lip there that holds it in).

if you're trying to clean up the engine bay, and you haven't already.. convert it from dp to mpfi. seems silly to remove a perfectly functioning cover just to see the cam gear spinning around.. but whatever humps your camel.

haha watching a stock cam gear spin looks cool? youll have to take the valve cover off to remove that top piece. and personally i rather have the cover there to protect my timing belt like honda intended

you dont have to take the valve cover off, just pry the t belt cover from under the lip of the valve cover. takes 5 min to take off.

x2. leave it on. if something get flung into your engine bay while driving and gets inside there, it could cause a lot of problems for you.

yea that was my only question about doing because that was a concern of mine. Final decidion: leave it on. gracias

but i do have more questions as far as mpfi goes. can i use any mpfi manifold and fuel injectors and whatnot from a d-series engine? what else do i have to change? i know i have to do some wiring and do something with the ecu.
