Need Engine ID plz.
can anyone tell me what the 'kickstand' looking thing at the bottom of the block beside the oil pan is called? my friend just purchased a shortblock and that didnt come with it...

That looks like a b18c1 shorblock and that rear stand is called the rear engine stiffener. that bolts up to the tranny to stiffen the whole asembly and preventing it from flexing under high loads.
