Default Tranny problems

I'm startin to have some troubles w/ the Si tranny. It doesn't want to go in to first at all, unless it's barely moving. If I'm stopped, and push the pedal to the floor to put it in, it feelt like it's right on the edge of going in to gear, but when I pull the clutch out the linkage will pop out a little and grind like it's not in gear. 3rd also seems to "go away" and come back. It has done it to me like 3 times now. It's like it's not there. I can find all of the other gears when this happens, and if I shift in to another gear I can then shift in to 3rd. This happens at high rpm's going from 2nd to 3rd.

It's a Si tranny w/ ACT 6puck and a Fidanza 9lb flywheel.

What does it sound like to you guys? Do you think tightening the tranny cable a little will help, or am I about to ditch the tranny for a new one?

Clutch adjustment. Your clutch isn't disengaging all the way. Refer to any service manual for adjustment procedures if you don't know how.

No ****. Pelu, your car hates you. It likes me better. It told me this in an email. I'm sorry, but that's the way it is. When you deliver it, don't forget to top off the tank. Thanks.

ROFL.

Yeah, well, that's how it goes I guess. I haven't even started to open her up yet. I've only taken her a full 1/4 @ WOT like 3 times.

My B16 hated me...I made love to her every night, and that's what I get... Now the ZC-T hates me. I guess I'm just not good enough for them. I run Synthetic, I give them Mobil 93 (NOTHING ELSE), and I make sure they get NGK's... I don't know what more I can do. AHHH, LOVE HURTS!!!

Ok, hey.

Which was I supposed to do, tighten the adjusting nut or loosen it? It seems to me that it's not enguaging enough, so I should have tightened so that when I press the clutch it will pull the cord up more...

Whelp, I tightened it up about 3 turns; and it didn't help at all. Should I loosen it, or was I right and now I need a new tranny

Well, Paco... when you turn the nut counter clockwise, you make it so the clutch engages closer to the floor, and when you turn it cockwise, it engages further from the floor. Sounds to me like you need to turn it clickwise maybe 5 or 6 times. It should start to grab about 2.5- 3" from the floor.

I adjusted it, turned it like 5 times. It seems like it enguages a little further out now...but is still skipping out of first. I haven't had a problem losing 3rd again...yet.
