Icon6 LS-V vtec not popping!

just did a lsv and vtec isnt popping cel isnt comming on.96 gsr head btw i would rev it to like 6 then it starts to lose power. i used a gsr ecu and cel came on i think it was knock sensor. then i used a chipped ecu cel didnt come on but im wondering why vtec isnt popping. i did everything right. oil is feeding to the right places the oil lines are hot so i know oil is circulating.

could it be the solenoid clogged? or maybe when we had to close up something under the head maybe we put something to long to maybe something is blocking!?! idk

please any input will be appreciated!!
please keep negative comments to yourself!!
thanks for looking!!

Hahaha....11 years of building these cars and I've NEVER heard the term "popping" used for vtec crossover...lol. Funny stuff.

Check to see if anything in the feed is clogged and check the screen. If that's okay, check the solenoid by giving it power - you can hear it click if its working.

Also, is it fully warmed up? VTEC will not engage if the engine is cold.

i had the same problem. The people who made my fittings screwed up. On the feed line it tapered to be way too small when i switched the line to a golden eagle line. It started working. If everything mechanical is there and working properly. check the line.

Does the solenoid click when you give it power directly?
Is the circuit hot? (does it have power)
Is your oil pressure sufficient?
Does the program in the chip disable any of the vtec error codes?
