Car is squeaking like a mouse!
anyone know why? when I am driving, it is a faint whisping noise ... then when I press on the brakes, it's a loud squeak (I am guessing this is the pads, but the other noise is frustrating)
Would you say it's my bearings or what? A mechanic I went to couldn't even tell me, lol? It is a constant WHISP
Also, when my car is in park ... my engine almost wants to stall - sounds like a high rev to a low rev constantly (worse when AC is off, im guessing from resistance)
anyone know what's going on here? ya the car is old / high miles, but I really want to keep it running

check bearings, bushings and moving parts on your suspension. Besides the normal squeek of my fanbelt when motors cold, my car is pretty quiet. I just turn up the stereo to block the estra squeeks here and there, lol...
I'm going to suggest that you take a very careful look at the rear bushings. The trailing arm bushings do wear out along with the lower control arm bushings. You also want to make sure that the sway bar end links and bushings are good. If by chance you put polyurethane ones on-they will eventually squeak. Depending on mileage and use the wheel bearings may need repacked or replaced. My 89 CRX Si drove me a bit nuts on the trip home from Charlotte after I bought it-the rear bushings were basically toast after 175K and all is well with new poly (as above) and the upper arms have good rubber in them. One other possibility that a lot of people overlook is the radius rod bushings up front.
The engine problem can be any one of a number of things. Could be time for a tuneup. Also a can of injector/fuel system cleaner cannot hurt.

If its a faint constant squeak and goes away or worse gets louder when you brake its got to be the wear indicator on your pads?? how new are your brakes??? becuase a lil elbow grease and new pads will take care of the car from sqeaking while crusing and coming to a stop.
