Default Why is my car dying out?!?!

95 eg hatch. on the way home, my radio stopped playing and died out. soon after my dash lights got super dim then windsheild wipers started lagging, like it was low on power. Soon headlight hid's started flickering. then car died out. turned it off and tried starting it but the car clicked like the battery was weak. Then had a friend jump it, drove for about 4 minutes then same thing happened. i think its because of a bad alternator but not sure. wanted input and opinion. Thanks

Check to make sure your battery terminals are secure.

Second the bad alternator. Dont drive it like that unless its to get the alternator replaced otherwise you'll be buying a new battery as well.

The battery is used for starting the vehicle and running acc when the engine is off, when the engine is running the alternator provides the power and charges the battery. So when the alternator goes bad your running the engine and acc completely off the battery which is why everything started to dim as the battery lost its charge

Seen that happen before too basically the alternator cant charge the battery but that will usually cause a no start condition but when jumped off it runs fine till you cut it off and then it wont start again.

Take to auto zone or any mechanic shop that can test your alternator and battery. You can get a new alternator at the dealer or mechanic shop. I think auto zone sell alternator..
