I've got a good deal on tuner 2 cams with cam gears. I was wondering if I can run these on my stock gsr with stock springs and retainers and valves only has skunk 2 I'm with 68mm tb ima tune it with a s200 hondata? Would it be safe

 

You cannot run this setup on stock valve train, not even with ITR valvetrain. And you will need a retune. Adjustable cam gears would help a lot . But trust me, its worth it.

It won't idle. In fact, you probably couldn't even hand crank it because the stock springs will bind. OP needs springs for those cams.

 

While you're correct that he has to change out his springs to run those cams, he could start the engine and idle on them because he'd only be running on the primary lobes which are nearly stock like in their profile. The second he tried to hit VTEC is another story.

Goes to show what you know about cams and valvetrain. Like mentioned above, the car will idle as it will be running off the primary lobes. I know first hand cause my neighbor was stupid enough to run Pro1 on stock VT and drove the car to the shop to have pro springs installed.

Would the stock bottom end hold to those cams?

 

^yes, however you would benefit more with a higher compression piston.

 

those cams would love 11.5:1-12:1 CR.

 

what about those cams+ valvetrain on jdm gsr with ITR pistons?
