Default exhaust help

i recently put a 2.25 exhaust on my 2000 civic and i've noticed that every time it rains the exhaust slaps the shift linkage causing the shifter to vibrate like mad. i've taken it to honda a couple of times and they said that every thing is tight under there. i'm out of ideas. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.

What kind of exhaust did you get? If it's from ebay then you got what you paid for.

Hmm thats weird. It's for sure installed correctly? What shifter and shift linkage do you have? What engine?

does your shifter itself move when you are in gear and get on it and let off? look at the rubber in the mounts. it might be torn apart of something.

Yeah the easiest way is to watch the shifter. If it moves more than like half an inch your mounts are probably not in the best of shape. You can also just grab the motor and try to push/pull back and forth and see how much it moves. You shouldn't be able to make it move at all just by your own force.
