Hey what up people,
Some guys have been telling me that my headgasket is on wrong. I thought these things can only go on one way. Let me know what you guys think. This picture is of the front side of the motor. The circled portion of the picture shows the metal tab portion of the gasket that sticks out from under the head.

there is a right and wrong way. when u intalled the gasket, most likely in one of the corners, it should have said 'up.'
i guess if it runs fine just leave it alone but i dont know what kind of setup you have or what your intensions are.

i've installed a headgasket upside down once on my gsr and it blocked the oil from getting through to the head...if it runs fine then your ok. its always nice to take pictures just incase you think you did something wrong so you can always refer to them
Thats normal for it to stick out on the side its just how they are made there is a few points like that around the block. if it was on wrong u'd have oil and coolant mixing or leaking everywhere. I think your gonna be okay

no he is not a mechanical genius but he is right the tab goes on the other side. old thread I know but people looking for answers need to know. tab goes on the dizzy side I just did that mistake on my integra and it was over heating. if you look at the gasket for the coolant the larger holes go on the dizzy side for the coolant return.
