Default gt series turbos

im currently running a built z6 bottom end with a y8 head along with a t25 turbo... i want to stay internally wastegated with the same edelbrock turbo mani Im running so my question is: what turbo can help me produce more power (only able to get 12 psi/224hp) as well as staying internally wastegated?

GT28RS is a pretty solid upgrade on the Edelbrock kit. They are available with a T25 flange and internally gated.

They have a new name now, but they are fast spooling and capable of reaching into the upper 200's / low 300's whp.

How much power do you want to make?

Im rocking a Edelbrock manifold with a GT28r from a D series kit on my LS and its a very fast spooler. I would choose a GT28rs if I had to do it again though. More room to grow.

GT3071 can be good for about 25+ psi, which usually translates to around 400whp depending on the motor, with a motor as small as yours, I wouldn't expect too much though. the GT25 and GT28 are most suitable.

gt28rs is a better suited turbo for the application. the 3071 would just be laggy and not produce to much more power at that boost level IMO

With only the oil lines run, everything should work correctly, but the water lines are there for the reliability aspect. That's why factory turbos usually have coolant lines, extends the life of the turbo.

you should not run a gtr turbo withou the coolant lines. there is very minimal oil going to the turbo because it is ballbearing. the coolant keeps things cool and from cooking the bearings.. it will void all warranty on the turbo if you do not run coolant lines
