ok so i have a 91 crx dx with the 1.5L DPFI.the car cranks over but it wont start.it sounds like it wants to but nothing.i have spark and fuel but the engine is flooding i think.after cranking it for a while the engine backfires thru the throttle body.i have no idea where to start.Any help will be greatly appreciated,thank you in advance

 

make sure the rotor in the dizzy didnt fall off.

 

checked it and it was okay.i was thinking maybe injectors are bad and leaking fuel cuz i cleaned my throttle body

 

Mine would do the same thing after sitting for awhile. Try putting in new spark plugs and turning the engine over 1 revolution at a time with the key and turn key off and repeat and hopefully it will crank. I hope this helps, it did for me.

 

i figured out what the problem was.si i was leaking oil from my dizzy o-ring and i put a new one in.when i did this i guess the tooth that grabs onto the cam moved 180 degress.i was on #4 spark plug when i should've been at #1.turned the dizzy back,put everything together and it started right up.thanks for the help anyways everyone!
