ok so my 89 sedan is actin super wierd...not as bad as it was but it's still wierd. so i put a new heater core, radiator hoses, and thermostat in but the car still only blows luke warm air. when i checked the hoses the lower radiator hose is empty and cold, the upper hose is full and hot, but not so hot that i can't grab and hold on to it and the rest of the hoses are the same way and the wierd thing is the car won't over heat. the fan relay is bypassed and it's got an aftermarket radiator. my dad called me a few days ago and said that all the hoses are full now but it still only blows luke warm air. anyone know what's goin on? i was thinkin that maybe it's the blender door but i'm not 100% sure

 

I would check your thermo again. Sounds like a bad one.

 

Lucky mine only blows cold air for the first 40mins.

 

I would check the blend door and the thermostat. It sounds more like a thermostat to me if the car is not warming up. Also, did you mix too much water with the coolant? Water is what actually keeps the engine cool.

 

you might want to recheck something because if your lower radiator hose is empty and the upper one is full you have a bigger problem then the heater core

 

well it's brand new but it's a 185...you think i need a 190? and the lower hose isn't empty anymore it's full but it still only blows warm air. and the reason i replaced the heater core is because it was bypassed and the lines were pinched of

 

oh and the car is warming up it's just barely getting to half way on the gauge.

 

Maybe an air pocket in the heater core? Do you have a full size or half radiator?
