Default Which inline fuel filter?

ok so im doing the whole tuck thing and starting to piece what i need together. I been looking at a black Trick Flow 23000 fuel filter. Its rated at 40 micron and up 300 psi. My question is, is 40 microns good for 93 pump gas? My motor is a stock itr with bolt ons if that helps.

40 micron is way too course for an outlet filter.
10 micron is what you want (OEM spec).

Octane ratings have nothing to do with filter micron ratings.

I'm presuming you're running an in-tank pump with a filter on it - and if so, that filter is 25 micron to protect the pump. Your injectors require finer filtration, so putting a 40 micron filter after a 25 micron filter would accomplish absolutely nothing.

You need 10 micron before the injectors because the inlet screens in the injectors are 7-8 micron.
So any particle larger than 10 microns gets trapped in the outlet filter.
Particles between 7 and 10 microns get trapped in the injector inlet screens.
Particles smaller than 7 microns flow right through everything.

You wouldn't want every particle between 7 and 40 microns getting trapped in the injectors because as they plug up, flows will drop off.

the 10 micron wont effect anything fuel pressure wise right? Im building a simple clean street car that i want to have around 200+ or so whp around that area but for now it just a stock usdm itr swap with bolt ons

Since 10 micron is OEM spec, I would say no.

Stock for a build like yours or an aftermarket 10 micron filter in a different configuration if you like.
