fuel filter for e85
almost got my turbo kit togethor for my h22a civic. going to be running e85 year around. only shooting for 300-350 hp on the ID-1000's injectors.
my brother is making just shy of 400whp in his subaru running e85, and has been having problems with a build-up of gel on the fuel filter, and is constanly having to change them because of this.
wanting to know if anyone has experience with this problem? if so what did you do about it? would swapping to a inline filter with a different type of media fix the problem? if so ( i have no experience messing with the fuel system besides the injectors and pump) what would be the easiest way to swap over to an aftermarket inline fuel filter?
just read on aeromotive's site that there filters arent to be used with e85

Re: fuel filter for e85
Use a filter with a stainless element that is easily accessible to clean, not a paper filter. I never had a large buildup of gel but it was present, I think I took mine off twice in 1500miles and the screen was just glazed a little, nothing major just took 1 minute to get the gel off and I was back running.
I use a cheapy 5 or 6" long filter with a 40micron stainless element in it, think I paid $40 or $50 bucks for it.

Re: fuel filter for e85
there was one guy in the all motor forum saying awhile back that his pump and filter took a **** on him from running e85 through them and that it was because of the materials the aeromitve stuff is made out of.
is there any truth to this? obviously i dont know, something else could have very easily caused the issue but im just looking for some feed back before i buy the aeromoitve filter.
also whats the easiest way to hook the filter up since it has an fittings on the ends of it??? without having to convert all of my fuel lines to braided lines and running all an fittings?
