Default 2001 Accord V6 Auto Tranny problem

It shifts hard from 1st to 2nd.

Also, when I put it in Park, the RPMs go up to about 3k, but not when I put it in drive.

need more info..
but you may have an idle issue such as a bad idle air control valve...
or you may have a bad transmission...or both...
98-02 accords have those common problems

I know the hard shifting is from worn down clutch packs, but the revving in Park is what I don't get. If it were a bad IACV, I'm pretty sure it would do it in gear also. My automatic Prelude did when my IACV came off the intake manifold one time (thanks to a careless technician).

not all the time..ive seem the idle fluctuate in park and when you shift the transmission in drive the idle steadies...

I've been told that my 01 accord has a "sticky valve" and that is what causes the rough shift in mine. The dealership told me that I need to have them clean out the fuel system...

So is this a threadjack because your fuel system has nothing to do with your transmission. Your valves are inside your engine, that would not cause a hard shift.

Anyways, yes these transmissions are pretty defective, notorious, whatever you want to call it.

well there is also shift valves inside an auto trans, and if they are sticking, it may cause the transmission to hesitate on the shift.

Yeah, but how would cleaning your fuel system clean the valves inside your transmission?

Anyways, it's my mom's car I'm talking about, and she takes it to the dealership for everything. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem.
