CO2 emissions. Urgent
I'm urgently in need of some assistance with an issue I'm having with the legalization of a 2006 civic dx-g manual transmision sedan.
Brought it overseas and took it to the inspection centre and it produced a whopping 489g/kg of CO2 emissions.
The technician added a note on the observations stating that the results did not necessarily reflect the actual production of CO2, nonetheless I have to provide the ministry with some form of proof to argue the fact that these sky high reading are not accurate. I called Honda Canada and they say that there is no official tecnical sheet they can provide me with.
If I can't provide proof I'm going to get CREAMED in taxes.
Any suggestions? Too late to turn back now...

put a half tank of E85 and keep your foot out of it. Drive it 20 miles an take it to a different station. If you don't have E85, use about three bottles of 90% rubbing alcohol and drive 20 miles. I did the rubbing alcohol back when I had a 1991 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4. It was turbo with no cat. It rang a 750ppm when the standard is 220ppm on the CO2. After the alcohol it rang a 175ppm. Not sure how much time you have but try that. And NO it's not going to hurt doing it a couple times.
I did a quick Google search and here is what I found:
From the Honda Canada site:

From auto123.com:

I'm not sure what the emissions rating from the Honda site means, but hopefully this helps.

Emission is being measured in grams per kilometer here at the inspection centre.
This Honda chart provides kilograms per year... Hard to convert without being able to consider how many kms to a year.
Thanks for the info! I'll see if I can work with it!
