Default Need A Catalytic converter To Pass Georgia Emissions Test...any help???

do the aftermarket catalytic converter (ex. carsound high-flow cat)pass emissions or do i need to just stick with a stock cat? if so where could i get one at a reasonable price.....please help its urgent....thanks in advance

You can get a used stock cat at your local junkyard most likely. Ive heard of high flow cats both passing and failing emissions so I couldnt answer that one.

Junkyard cat's are illegal until tested. I don't know how they would know but it's interesting.

You can get a "direct-fit" Carsound cat for your car for a little over $100 I think. I'm not absolutely sure yet how well they do with emissions (I have one on my wife's GS-R, but it hasn't had to be emissions-tested yet), but from what I've read they should be sufficient to pass the test.

Throw some isoporpal rubbing alcohol in your gas tank and drive around for 10-15 minutes before the test. I passed with flying colors and no cat. Put 1 bottle to a full tank of gas or half bottle to half a tank of gas.

It is illegal to sell a cat or a muffler out of a junk yard, at least in PA. I don't know why but it is.

thanks for the help guys...i settled on getting a magnaflow high-flow cat....and it says 49 state legal and will pass georgia emissions
