Your CO is a dead giveaway that you need a converter. Your combustion efficiency in terms of CO is great, However your ability to process NOx and HC in the converter is impaired.

A new converter will solve this problem as long at it meets the requirements of your state. A knockoff may get you by for a short time, however I would not count on it in the long term.

I correct solution has been given already (cat).

The "I just need to pass NOW" solution is to run the car until it's low on gas, warm it up really, really well on the way to the test, and then dump denatured ethanol into the tank and mix it in well (or pure ethanol, if you can get it, but most can't) right before the test.

Actually, the O2 is the giveaway.

The CO2 is a result of combustion and indicates the engines efficiency, not CO.

true story. haha. The goal is to have no o2 left over after the cat absorbs it and then uses it

Were you talking CO or CO2, I believe I was talking CO. CO2 is normal.... duh?

I did forget the 2 in the second CO, so I'd understand your picking apart my post. Point taken, I should take my time.
