ok so i have a b16a swap in my 97 ek coupe. when its cold it runs fine. but as it warms up it will cut out at certain throttle points. but not the same throttle points every time. its inconsistent. but when it warms up its fine. i think its a tps issue because i have a blox tps that i put on almost a year ago. if anyone has any input that would be awesome. thanks
if you have a volt meter or whatever, take the voltmeter to it, and open the throttle body, if i remember correctly voltage is .5 or something like that, if it varies, your tps is poopy.
Read this.... what do you think ... are we experiencing the same thing??

i did and it read ok. but since it only acts up when its warming up do you think that maybe it only messes up during a certain tempurature? or does this mean i need to go another route?

i've been having the same problem with a car. but like you said, it is ****ing cold, so i haven't bothered to pop the hood yet. when i do, i'll tell you what was wrong with it. bump
okay so ur idle messes up when ur car warms up? this can be Ignition timing. or it could be your ECT (coolant temperature) sensor going bad. OR it could be you FITV (fast idle thermo valve) if your car has one...GOOD LUCK! :D

no its not at an idle its when accelerating. and yes i do have an FITV but i cleaned it all out this fall. and its not an idle issue so i think that isnt the issue. im thinking maybe its the MAP? whats the symptoms of that going bad. ive had the vacuum line going to the MAP unhooked before and it isnt doing what it did then. and its hard to just go get an extra MAP or TPS and switch to see if it fixes it because no junk yards are close to me and i dont have any friends nearby to switch with. has anyone else had issues with BLOX TPS's?
oh also i lost my gas cap recently and i just went to the local autozone and picked one up....could that have anything to do with it? maybe its the wrong one or isnt aloowing presure to build in the tank? and it cant be bad fuel because when it started it was at half a tank and i used all of the fuel up and then i just got a full tank of good shell gas.

so it feels like its lacking power? cuz this is a typical problem when your timing is off. wut happens when u turn on the A/C? (if u have)
it could be your MAP yes, but i think it would throw a Check Engine Light.

99% chance it isn't anything mentioned in this thread so far.
it isn't supposed to be 12 degrees here tmrw.. i'll take a look at whats going on with mine and its likely a similar solution.

ok so i think i have found my problem... i have a bad oil leak right next to my dizzy. and the bottom of the cap was wet from oil. i took off the cap and i found that the cover that is behind the rotor was broken and some of the wires were a little wet wih oil. also the bottom of the cap's seal was ripped. so im guessing i need a new dizzy.
but heres the deal. would one work off of a 99-00 si? because i think its an OBD2 but i dont know for sure. its a 97 civic. and i have a conversion harness into the ecu. and the plug that the dizzy has isnt like the old style clear one. its the grey one. so is that ODB2? any help would be awesome. thanks
