Default Vacuam pump to bleed brakes?

Has anyone ever tried using a vacuum pump like this to bleed brakes:

Just curious, as I have an old one sitting around.

No, I haven't, but I have used several different vacuum pumps to bleed brakes-the two common deisgns are either a hand-operated vacuum pump that can also create vacuum to test/diagnose sensors, valves for engine diagnosing. The other common type attaches to an air compressor and uses the venturi principle to draw fluid out of the calipers. Hope this helps!!!!

Can't say I have, but I don't see why it wouldn't work

Should work just fine. Is it adjustable? If it pulls too much vacuum, it may just collapse the hose or pull air from around the bleeder screw. You might have to get creative and rig up a way to bleed off the excess vacuum.

yea, I think im gonna try hooking a tank in between it like the hand operated vacuum pumps. Its not adjustable ,but there is two ports on it so I think I would be able to just open one of them slightly to adjust it. I will report back on how it works.
