So what do i need?ls/v
well, google first... that is the first thing you should do..
the FAQ section has some info on it, as well
You need a gsr or b16/type r head.. you need to get the dowels hooked up so the head mates to the block.. you need to plug the oil jet in the block, and tee off an oil line to go to your hear to supply it with oil for vtec, if you are using an LS timing belt, then you need an LS (b18a/b) pump, etc etc etc etc
just google it.. lol.. you will lots of posts and how to's.. its the same as doing a b20vtec

yea, just different blocks, there is a ton of stuff all over here and pretty much everywhere about the swap, search, people will burn ya for not searching. good luck, it will be fun, but please don't do it cheap, I spent alot when I went ls-v and I still threw a rod through the block.

You basically need a complete vtec head with valve cover, Vtec plug wires, a golden eagle LS/Vtec conversion kit (for ease), a GSR timing belt and water pump, a Vtec ecu, added Vtec solenoid and oil pressure switch wiring, possibly a Vtec intake manifold, and some general engine knowledge. You may want to get a Vtec distributor, but if you cut off one of the LS ears of you can use it.
In that case, your gains will be lower around 30hp. I'm pretty sure you can use your LS intake manifold with that head. The GSR is the one that is different.
theres a perfect write up on this. i havent bumped into it on this forum but im sure they have it but if u wouldnt mind reading this, its everything i feel u would need to know in order to mentally prepare urself for this build. in my opinion LS vtec is an awesome engine but only if built properly and it can get a little expensive. but even a basic mild built lsv can make good power on a budget. heres the link dude hope it answers all ur needs
