Default d16a6 wagovan

I want to do a low boost set up on my wago as not to mess up the awd system. I am looking at a set up like an sts set up and was wondering the boost handling ablitys of the stock motor 4-6lb is what i want to run. motor is on 9000 miles of a rebiuld and runs realy smooth.

psi is arbitrary, the stock bottom end is good for ~250 hp on most tunes. If you are very well versed in tuning you could squeeze more out of it, but you'd basically be re-tuning it for each tank of fuel you use.

With a set of good aftermarket rods and pistons the power handling jumps to 400 on most tunes, and up to 600-700 hp on a GREAT tune.

Do you already own it? if so why? You live in Florida...

Trying to avoid tuning=failure... you're pumping more air through the motor. Holyhorseshit you're gonna need to pump more fuel in there too. And guess what you'll probably have to retard some timing to compensate for the faster burn from the denser mixture...

btw what's a sts setup?

STS is a a remote turbo set up. The turbo sits in place of the muffler and is fed by way of remote oil pumps then the charged air is ruoted all the way the *** to the engine bay. Turbo lag no matter what squires says.

my bad bean-O... If I dropped at least $1700 on a universal "kit" I would expect it to tune itself too...

X1000

Plus you be wise to lower the compression of the motor if your going to add boost at all.

im was just wondering and yes i do own it i live in panama city. i really dont want to do much i think for the hasel i'll just do a smalll all motor biuld. i have a 50cc scooter that is now 110cc water cooled 2 stroke that is getting close to be ing done. i am hoping for low 8's in the 8th mile. thats part of the reson for a small biuld is so i can tow my scooter from place to place. i have headers, cold air, custom muff from the header back. adjustable cam gear, short throw shifter, tien coilovers, skunk2 uper control arms, blox camber kit, and a full tent on all the windows.

just mini me it and convert to obd1 if you're looking to get more power. put in a lighter flywheel to get the revs up quicker as well if you're concerned about it. oh if you decide to turbo your car and not tune it, lmk when you blow it up, i'll by the shell off you

Ok... how is your statement relevant? We're all aware of the epic tuning awd hatch. This guy wants to make his wagovan faster. We're pointing him in the direction of reality within his limitations... He said he did not want to have it tuned.

The epic hatch was tuned by Jeff Evans. So why don't you go give him a ring and find out what his hourly rate is? and if he wants airfare to panama, fl and shipping for his gear(since it'd probably be a bitch to carry that **** on a plane right now). or you could try making a point in relation to the topic being discussed...

you can say w/e you want, but the facts are that with any serious "all motor" mods you'll need a tune. higher compression? you'll need a tune. larger cam? you'd be smart to get a tune. even with a mini me or port and polishing you should probably get at least a wide band o2 sensor to make sure you're not leaning out.

just my 2 cents

i know about the hatch that they did and they ended up changing alot. it held for about 4 months and then dropped its gut out its ***. i would just swap up to an b series motor but i want to keep my awd. i hate how everthing meens that you have to do more and it just biulds up. i am going to leave it the way it is ride the scooter when i need a thrill and and do some thing ealse. maybe biuld something on the side so i can slowy biuld it and still can drive my dd.

haha, exactly what I do...

I have a DD wagovan. I love it, but I am NOT adding any "power" mods to it. If I need power, the 7 is parked right next to the wago.

If I were you, I'd just add style to the wago.

^ Another 7 owner!

Hehe... I have three FBs and an FC.

I used to have a 1985 Civic Wagon with 4wd. You could actually put in in FWD mode or 4WD mode with a button on the dash. SL-Gear wouldn't work in FWD mode.\

I used to have light truck tires on it and it'd go anywhere. I loved that car. Blew the head, gave it to a buddy who paid to repair it, and then he wrecked it.

I miss it... Excellent parts hauler, 36 MPG on a well tuned carburetor. You could embarrass some ricers in it too by launching in 4wd mode and then hitting the button to disengage the rear diff for less drivetrain loss.

haha! Nice.
The wagon is a sick little DD. Lots of space. BUT no cup holders!!!

I just had to replace the head gasket on this one. I'm not gonna do any performance mods or try to race anyone, but I'll add some style to it for sure!
