Default A/C Compressor for LS Swap?

Hey guys,

Its time I get A/C back in my car. I haven't had A/C since I did the swap. At the time I was more interested in having a cleaner, less clutered engine bay. After 2 summers I am sick of not having A/C.

SPECS:

-1994 B18B1 Engine
-Car: 1993 Honda Civic EX 2-dr

I have been doing some research but am still kinda lost as to what compressor to use.

As far as the A/C Bracket from what I have searched I can use a 94-97 Del-Sol VTEC compressor bracket or one off a 94-01 CR-V.

As for the compressor I have read where people say use the Integra Compressor, then I have read where the Integra compressor won't work and to use the original D-Series compressor. But, I thought the D-Series compressor wouldn't bolt up to a B-Series bracket?

Any insight on what compressor to get would be great, also let me know if I can use all my other stock D-Series stuff as far as the lines and condensor, etc go. I want to start sourcing parts and get this done in the next few weeks and get it working good before any warm weather starts approaching.

I will also most likely grab the 97-01 CR-V bracket as I will be able to get one from my local Honda Salvage easier than I can get my hands on the Del-Sol VTEC one.

Thanks in advance. Happy new year as well.

The CRV (P7J) or the Del Sol VTEC (P54 I think) AC bracket allows the D series compressor to attach to the B series motor. You can check at junkyards, the CRV one is probably more common. If you can't find one, PM me, I have a CRV bracket sitting behind the seat in my truck...I'll let it go $50 shipped?

You'll use all Civic parts besides the bracket. So, Civic AC lines, compressor, condensor, etc.

Thumper,

Thanks alot man, Very helpful as usual! Greatly appreciated. Now that sounds freaking sweet that I can use the D-Series compressor with either of those brackets. I still have all my old D-Series A/C Parts in my garage. I will check with a friend of mine to see if he just happens to have a CR-V or DOHC VTEC Del-Sol bracket laying around. If not, I'll hit you up via PM.

Thanks again.

You're welcome and good luck with the project. Your car is a 93, so you may have R12 or R134A depending when it was built since 93 was an odd year. That doesn't get brought up often, so just thought I'd mention it.
