Default 98 ex with aftermarket head unit power lock question

ok so im installing an aftermarket head unit in my g/fs 98 ex civic i have been told that removing the stock radio will disable the power locks unless i do something with the stock radios wiring. is that nayone who can be more specific in what that particular trick is. also there is an automatic starter system installed in the car as well. they have the power locks on the starter system. have they bypassed the stock radio system anyways or no. any help will be appreciated thanks

Using an aftermarket head doesn't disable the power locks, it disables the remote keyless entry (the receiver is built into the stock head unit).

Yes, but it involves relocating the stock headunit to the trunk or under the dash.

You can get a radio harness that's meant to keep the dome light working and meant to keep the stock radio hidden behind the dash.

IIRC, InstallDr.com has instructions on hiding the radio and such too.

i got the merta calbe that splits the two head units and you can hide the other one ordered now. but ultimatly i was wonding if the aftermarket auto starter had its own receiver. its an AVITAL starter system.
