Default Chucktown Cool Guy Thread

Well, since all the threads us cool guys have made keep getting locked I guess someone needed to start another one.

Ok, today's adventure starts with... I think my ECU is dead or dying. Car starts and idles fine, then bam ECU code comes on and kills the car. CEL code 11 specific to my Hondata S300 points me in this direction. Hopefully Colin still has my other ECU at the Showzone. Ugh... yet another day without life starting at 20psi.

Ashby, I'll go to Charleston Rubber & Gasket and have them make me a hose or two then. I knew they could make lines, I've just never had them do so.

Ok, got the fuse box swapped out today and that didn't solve my problem. So, it's not the ELD itself. I guess the alternator is next up on the list because I shut off the ELD via Hondata, and drove the car. It was stumbling a bit, died at one point while rolling down the road, and I saw the battery light flash. Checked the battery voltage and it was good, but I still have to check the alternator

Why is it that when I finally get it all back running well there is something else awaiting me around the corner? Grrr..... lol

Gurley keeps getting banned and he lost his internet hookup! lol

That's the way it goes.... it's always something...especially on a turbo car.

If I can get a day off, probably New Year's I'm going to fix my piece. Then I can again roam the streets of Charleston with pride.

Oh I know that oh so well, but when you hit 20+psi all that **** is worth it in the end. I think I have narrowed it down to the voltage regulator on the alternator. I shut the ELD off in Hondata so the ECU couldn't trip the signal and I replaced the ELD. This leaves one wire left to trip the ELD code, and that is the signal from the alternator voltage regulator. Electrical issues are fun!

Brandon, I fixed Gurley's Vtak and it screams like a banshee so you need to get on your **** stat!

This thread title is sexually biased Billy. So I'll say i'm married to a cool guy and know some cool guy members. Is that enough to get me into the "cool guy thread" aka the "He-man woman hater's club"? lol

Sexually biased is right! No girls allowed... get out! lol

Naw, I'm just kidding I just wanted to start a new thread.

Well, put a new cap, rotor, and plugs in the car today. Cap and rotor were looking pretty rough, but the plugs were good. Turned back on the ELD in Hondata and no issues thus far. I'll be keeping my laptop close by though if I venture anywhere just in case. Also went to Charleston Rubber & Gasket and had them make me a nice new stainless clutch line. Cost me $40, which isn't too bad I guess. Finally I went to buy some plug wires and they were all out of NGK's, and the Bosch ones aren't even close to being acceptable. Guess I'm going to have to order a set soon then.

Hehehehe. Had to give you some **** on that.

Glad to hear you're making progress.

My exhaust didn't make it in today, hopefully early next week. I did put insurance on the Teg today and will be heading out to pay taxes and get her registered tomorrow (last day of the month...DMV...fun, fun! lol). I was really hoping to be driving her this weekend, buuuutttttt....i refuse to be seen driving her around with that huge *** muffler that's attached to her right now. lol

Are we a wee bit self conscious about the exhaust after we attacked it?

lol...honestly, that was the one and only thing i noticed that had to go when i first saw the car. I can't stand big mufflers like that. So, it was on its way out before you guys took aim at it. lol

Happy New Year all!
