Default b24vtec?

hey, didn't honda make a 2.4 liter b-series CRV at one point? Why isn't anyone putting a vtec head on it and making a b24?

A rod just disintegrated inside my block and disconnected from the crank, punching a hole out the side of my b16. I was going to go b20vtec with my head, but if I could make a b24v, why go b20?

thanks

It was a 2.4L K-series that they used on on the '02+ CR-V's.

oh so it's a k series... I wish it were a b24, not a k24. because then I'd have a massive motor in my car with vtec... oh wells.

thanks for the infos on the motors.

The K can be swapped in, or you can bore and stroke a sleeved B20 or GSR out to around 2.3 liters. Otherwise, you could get an H series and bore it out to 2.4 probably and use an adapter plate to mate onto the B series tranny.

The K24 in all US model vehicles except the Acura TSX is a i-VTEC E engine and has no high rpm cam lobe.

maybe that's why people swap the K20 head onto K24s?
