what is this grinding noise...i need to get to school tommorow morning!!!!!!

ok when i go to start my car i hear a noise like it is trying to turn the engine over but its like metal is grinding on metal......i think it has something to do with the starter turning the flywheel but i am not sure how to fix it. i need my car for school tommorow morning and the starter is only like 3 months old anyone?

The Horror! That brings back horrible memories. How's your engine oil, how's the car been running lately? That's the sound mine made when I seized the engine. Of course if you car has been having trouble starting lately it could also be the starter. Also check the timing belt for the hell of it.
