Default Just a rant #1530

Hey guys just wondering what you all are thinking. Should I stick with "Honda theme" or stick to the purist state of mind like Tyrant 007 has in mind. With "A" "USDM" theme or "H" aka "JDM" theme? There is a change that I might go to Iraq/Afgah and it would help me be able to finish the Type-R project. I'd save money on the USDM theme and still build the car the way I'd want, but the JDM theme would have all the "goodies" I'd like to have. Examples of the JDM "theme" are JDM ITR tranny, recaro seats front and rear, etc, or a mixture of both? Take in mind that if I do go to Iraq/Afgah, I will repaint the whole car once I return thats for a mos def. I just want to make the car the way I've dreamed it could be. Feed back both pos and neg will be considered

I'd stay USDM all the way for sure. Keep her stock appearance (aside from rims maybe). If you want to blow some money, spend it under the hood (no boost ). No matter what make it as spotlessly clean as possible. Make sure the repaint is done the right way. I guess that is my 2 cents.

building cars isn't about going with "themes" it's about going after what you want.

I have the red recaros, but i also have primarily USDM parts, as well as aftermarket items such as the momo steering wheel, spoon shift ****, etc.. because that's what makes me happy. what's going to make you happy is take peoples suggestions as guidance and not as a set standard for you personally.

Just do whatever makes you happy with youR car!

Who cares what everyone else thinks..... Track it or not, turbo it or not, usdm or jdm... just do whatever makes you happy.

As long as you don't rice it out with the obvious body kits, wire mesh grill, crazy size wheels, paint your interior, etc.... then you should be fine!

Like the others have said - Thanks for serving!

EXACTLY! I'm not really one way or the other. I just think that if people really like a JDM R then they should buy a JDM R. I want a JDM (98 specR) header...

By JDM tranny do you mean 98 spec R? The 96 SpecR tranny has the same gear box and FD as the USDM caR. Do what you wanna do and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

This hobby is too expensive to be building it to someone else's standards.

Yes I do mean the JDM 98 Spec R tranny, hopefully a brand new one, or rebuild mine w/the 98spec R gears. I'd say $7k-12k is the target. Finding the right hook-ups for parts, paint, and etc is gonna be the hardest part.

Like what everyone is saying. Do the car the way you want too. My car already consists of Usdm, Jdm, and Edm parts. In my opinion its hard to keep a Type R stock whether its Usdm or Jdm imo...

Don't go with any particular theme, just don't add H badges to your Acura!
