Default Alarm Going Nuts

I have a Viper Alarm on my 1998 Type R and recently its been going off for no apparent reason. I'll arm the alarm and like 5 minutes later it will go off. It has done then this twice so far, once today at school and once yesterday. Any ideas? Thanks, Ryan

Easy check is for water in the hood pin. That seemed to fix mine.

I got up under where all the wiring is and whoever did it, was done when I bought the car, did a pretty hack job. I prseed all the connectors and sprayed some compressed air in the connections and it still did it about 25 minutes later. So for no I can't use the keyless entry and have to let her sit with no alarm.

well its something with the sensors..

check for proper connection at the shock sensors, the hoodpin trunk pin and door pins if they are sending or touching ground could cause this

Yes you can use the keyless entry while you figure out whats causing the alarm to false. Just put the alarm in VALET MODE. I believe on most VIPERS is open your door..........press button #1, then #2, then back to #1, while the door is open.

The LED should be steady now. Its in VALET MODE. You can use keyless, but there are no alarm features. No more pissing the neighbors off!!! and you still have keyless entry!!

Repeat the procedure again to get it out of VALET mode. Pay attention to the LED.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Ive figured something out this morning. My cars alarm will go off, and start activation different functions at random (panic, disarm, autostart) when the battery is about to totaly die. This could be the answer to alot of these peoples problem, either dying batteries, or bad ground or + leads.
