Default turbo wont kick in

i just got my car going a few days ago and its been running good, but on the way home last night when i reved it up to 4000rpm in 3rd gear it wouldnt go past that and felt like it was redlineing ,oil feed is installed correcty

this was working fine prior

b16a stock
crome tuned
r33 turbo top mount
spoon leads

I think a bit more information could help(engine management, turbo, electronics setup). I had a similar problem with my hondata s300 and my speed sensor(mechanical type) wasn't completely clipped in so it would trigger the 2-step. Couldn't rev above 4k rpm. Check for boost leaks, vacuum leaks and possibly fouled out plugs. Also, is your check engine light on? Hope this helps.

im not getting any engine lights, also i took the car for a drive just then, runs fine no smoke it just does not boost at all 0 psi

hey thanks man, thats what it was, the cerclip fell of the wastegate and its stuck open

Will it make any boost? Could be blowing the spark out. Whats your plug gap set too? Also check your wires and make sure they are seated correctly and are not arcing to the head.

Hahaha... I knew it, as soon as you said internal wastegate.. dead give away. Good that you got it figured out man, have fun..

just to play devils advocate, when i had popped a charge pipe on the street, at 4k the car wasnt making any power anyway so no need to even try to rev it any higher.

maybe it just quit making power? and didnt have the need to try to keep accelerating.

i would hope that the tune would be resonable enough in the 0 vac column, but, you have a good point.
