It's really simple. If you do find a tuner and they need some guidance have them call me.

Surely someone in detroit is good at tuning, otherwise Toronto is near enough and there are quite a few good shops out there from what i have heard.

i talked to speed industry in troy Mi. and they want me to put 1000 miles on motor, but had blew it up after a fresh rebuild at 121 miles, and dont wanna do it again since had to replace every bearing, ring, piston again. so looking to find a good base tune that i know will let em last till 1,000 miles

why wait 1000 miles?

get the engine running, tow it to a tuner, do a full street tune but stay out of high boost during the break-in tune. The first 50 miles are the most important. If its tuned during this process, it guarantees the best ring expansion which increases ring seal and power.

1000 miles is indeed a myth. Get it tuned as soon as possible.

Last built motor we did was doing 16 psi (wastegate) pulls down the interstate within an hour of starting it, ran it for about 100 miles that night to break in street tuning, and took it to the dyno right away after that and started running full boost. Don't "break in" a motor, tune it right off the bat and run it hard. If you aren't comfortable doing a street tune yourself, Trailer it to detroit or toronto and find a shop that will break it in on the dyno.

Break the motor in "while tuning". Take the car too a tuner before the first start up. You will be alot happier. Dont just throw a basemap on the car and expect the A/F's and timing to be synced good enough too break a motor in. The first couple heat cycles are critical too ring seating and longevity of a motor. I also like too do a couple leakdown/compression tests throughout the process.
