i have a non-v-tec stock ex motor. when i push it it starts to not want to go more than 6 6 1/2. tranny locks and doesnt get pushed out it just doesnt want to red line @ 7 rpm. i just bought the car n have not changed any thing to the motor please let me know what you guys might think is the problem

non vtec ex? i am unaware. somebody enlighten me. i was under the assumption egs had z6 and eks had y8... both of which are vtec... as far as your problem... idk. sorry to clutter your post.

 

no the tranny is manual.....

 

well. non vtec motors really dont like high revs bc its out of their power band... if your cruisin at like 20... and u boot it in 2nd gear.... does it hesitate... or miss?

 

every thing goes in fine all gears bt turns out the CEL was not working and i put a new one on there and it stays on now, what do you guys think this could be ?
