i have a 2000 civic ex D16Y8 with VTEC and for some reason it keeps poping out of second gear. ive tried more tranny fulid and flushing the whole thing and the problem still contiuned and now when im in a high rpm like around 5500 it grinds going in to third ive herd this problem was common wiht the D16 trannys but i cant find anyone who knows what the hell their talking about

First off, tranny problem have nothing to do with the motor. Secondly, it sounds like your syncro's are bad, since your grinding into third and second wont stay in.

i would say synchro's too, or even bad motor mounts.

my cousin was missing his rear motor mount and it would cause the car to pop out of gear and grind.
