my b18b has beeen boosted for a few months now ..right now on a street tune runing low boost..has been very reliable no problems... but suddenly for the past few weeks the car has been idling at 2,000rpms or 1,500 sumtimes... i turned the idle down thru the throtlle body and that did not help... wen i first start it in the morning it idles normal after warming up but then after 10mins of driving the idle kicks back up to 2grand..does anyone kno what this problem could be?

have you checked your vacuum lines? maybe a crack in one?

 

check your fitv.

 

I had this issue, was a vacuum leak

 

Def. check your fitv same thing happened to me and that was the problem.

But if the fitv controls the idle from a cold start and does not affect it wen the engine is at operating temp then i dont think the problem would be the fitv because my engine idles at 2,000 rpms after it is already warm.. at a cold start it idles at 1500 which is normal and then it drops to 900 rpms but after 10minutes of driving it jumps to 2,000rpms

 

Coolant level, airbound coolant system who tuned the car? how much boost and timing are you running? check oil for coolant. could be blown headgasket and your pushign combustion in the coolant chamber causing the IACV to burp the idle up and down.

 

I just found out that its just a base map not a street tune.. and the oil has no coolant and nothing is leaking between head and block.. the coolant was a little low.. i just filled it up.. im gonna bleed the system and see if the problem goes away

 

Get yourself an appointment with a tuner and have it dyno tuned.

 

yeah really get it tuned, you should not be driving arouns boosting the rap out of that car on a basemap.
