Default whats the best way to strip under coating?

Im trying to take off the under coatting on my hb
wheel wells and the underside of the chassie
any help would be nice on this

what to use?

You could try a wire wheel but I don't know how well it would work and would definitely take some time.

i dont know my friend said wire wheel takes extremely long! cans of that stuff inst to bad and it eats it up u can almost wash its all off with that stuff.

a torch and a scraper works fairly well, a lot easier if you have a rotisserie too.

^ X2. This is how I usually do mine, minus the torch... I just use a 1200 degree heat gun and a paint scraper that you can find in the interior paint section of lowes, home depot, wal mart, etc... Just be sure to not hold heat in one spot too long, especially if using the highest heat setting... After heating it should scrape off fairly easy. Good luck!

u know i was wondering if a torch would work didnt doit at the time cuz of the gas leak i had lol. but i may try that next time.

Usually you want to avoid excessive heat on body parts, it can warp the metal very easily. At least don't try it on any exterior panels. When removing the paint, try not to damage the grey primer coat under the color. This is the factory electrodeposition primer, or E-Coat and it's the strongest barrier against corrosion in the automotive world. Nothing protects as well as the factory E-Coat so autobody people try to keep as much of it intact as possible.

its not a street car
thanks Im not using heat for any of it wire wheels seem to be working well
