i have the tial V44 wastegate on my boosted h22.
my question is should it be releasing exhaust at an idle with and without the vaccuum hooked up?
or should it be sealed up until it creates enough boost to open the spring?

Thats what i was thinking, i opened it once to check the spring size before installing it, so there maybe something wrong i guess...
it will still work like it is but i think if i fix it, it will get rid or some of my boost lag for sure..
thankd anymore insite would be great...

do you know what the fire ring is?
it is a ring that goes between the wastegate valve and wastegate body where it meets the manifold flange. it is a seperate piece that can come out, or depending on where you got it some shady dealers manage to not include it with the wastegate and try to charge you for it later.

isnt the v44 a v-band connection? do they still have the fire ring? i thought that was for bolt-on 38mm only.
EDIT: looks like they do have one after all.
