solenoid question
ive tried everything i checked my wiring almost 50 times. so idk what could be wrong. i tested the solenoid its grounded it clicks when i run a wire to it from the battery. i took the wire out of the clip and hardwired it together...still no vtec. im getting pissed ive ben trying to work on it for almost a month with no progress. i retrieved the codes all i have is code 21. vtec solenoid. it sucks driving around with a brand new jdm h22a with no vtec almost a tease any one with any insight to this is much help ill post pictures if need be idc i just want it to work
i had the same problem with my h22 swap and what i did was switch the ecu to p28 instead of the p13. for some reason it worked when i borrowed my friends civic ecu so you should find some one with a p28 and see if thats the problem.

A stock p28 wouldn't be a good thing to run on a H22a. Check your wiring and check for continuity in the wiring. Did you wire up the spool yourself? Most 4th gens have the wiring for the spool valve off to the side next to the passenger shock tower, single green/yellow wire.
i did the wiring my self i ordered the vtec subharness from rywire. and i did connect it to that green and yellow wire grounded it and hooked my oil pressure wire up too. its not in limp mode it goes to 6500 revs just no vtec and slow as *****
besides running the p28 i also wired my vtec straight from the ecu harness directly to the solinoid and switch and the screen if its clogged or dirty that also can be the problem
