Default cams, pistons question

i just got my 99 gsr, for 14k i might add with only 18k miles on it, i got my header, test pipe, exhaust, and filter on and now im searchin for what would logically come next...im stayin NA...would i be better off using skunk2 stage 1 or 2 cams or using ctr and itr cam...also i want to up the compression...whats would be better using spoon itr or ctr...or would some other aftermarket like jg be better....any opinions...also it would be better to wait and put my skunk2 intake manifold on at the same time at the cams for more noticable gains right?

any info is appreciated
thanks
josh

IMO, I would run the cams and then the manifold and or get a Over-Bored TB first before the cams.

Test pipe Get a high flow cat. I like breathing.

Anyway I would say cams. Then intake and TB. Save up for some headwork. There are a couple of people making some sick power with stock bottom and headwork with cams. I am talking about 200hp+. If I remain NA this is the way I will go.

I got my AEM CAI first, then the DC 4-1 Header. I was greedy and went with Cams, Cam Gears, VAFC, and FPR instead of finishing the Exhaust, Intake Manifold and TB for some fast flowing motion.

I have alot of air and fuel consumption goin on, but it gets muffled like a biatch when it needs to spit the exhaust out.

I'll be getting an Exhaust, Intake Manifold, TB, and a Valvetrain upgrade with a 9700rpm redline in the future, so that will make a VERY Noticeable gain.

TB=throttle body

As far as cams it depends on how much power you want, and how much money do you have to spend. From the dynos I have seen you can make 190-200 hp with the CTR/ITR or skunk 1 cams. These all can drop in. Bigger cams will require more money up front for valve train upgrade. I am still undecided on what I want.

you will need a hi-flow cat...i prefer CarSound...o nvm u have a test pipe grrrr, just give up like 1 hp and save the environment please. i'm thinking u should get cams/cam gears, then tune it. that'll add quite a bit.

If you are gonna get cams that require a valvetrain upgrade and money isnt really an issue, go with some Toda Spec B's or JUN3 Cams. I personally would go for a JUN3 all motor setup if I had VTEC.

remember skunk2 stage 1's have a noticibly more aggressive profile compared to ctr or itr -- making 200 whp with skunks will be much easier than with the R's --

Money no object... Has anyone tried skunk stage 3's.

If I was to build my ultimate NA street fighter

b18c1 block resleeved to 84.5 for 2 liters
balanced bottom
11.5-12.5 compression
skunk stage 3's with skunk valvetrain
portflow worked head
Hondata(OBD1) or AEM(OBDII)
Raised redline(9500 at least)
ITR tranny with ATS 4.9's

One wet nap! I need to wipe myself off now

That will be a PURE Racing car. Even Skunk2 said the Stage 3 cams are for RACE only...

Ok skunk 2's then

Personally I think to build a serious NA car you will need a second car anyway. Personally I can't afford to have my car unavailable for weeks at a time while work is being done on it and I am waiting for parts. After I pay it off and buy my next toy maybe.
