ATTN: ITR owners w/ carbon fiber hoods
are you guys using the hood latch or hood pins? i've heard from a few people that it's best to use the pins...
if anyone is just using the latch, is it strong enough? it looks like it's just epoxyed on there. also, how do u close it? does it weigh enough to close itself if u let it drop like the stock hood, or do you gently press it closed?
thanks

I've been up to 140+ with my FI hood and...well, it stayed on lol. It was flappin around but for the most part it was allright. I'd just get pins for peace of mind.
edit: oh yeah, and i always pressed it down...

once you get the pin in, put down the hood and mark where to start drilling.
we started drilling from the bottom up, just to see where it comes out of from the top. once you see it, drill from the top down (less messy)
put tape where you're going to start drilling(i dont know why but people recomended it)
took us a good 3 hours, we took our time. we didn't want to make any stupid mistakes just to save a little time.

What kind of pins are those? I like'm
.....sparco - you can get them in a nice range of anodized colors.
I'm running vis WITH hood pins. I'd rather have the hood look *a little* funny than flip up at 140mph.....
Peace of mind is worth it, imho.
