Shift Problem Looked around can't find any answers..
My 91 Integra feels like its in nuetral in all gears. (shifter moves from side to side in all gears) any ideas on the problem and how to fix it? Thanks for the help guys sorry if this is a repeat...
Jack up the car and tighten the long bolt that goes through your shifting fork and the bottom of your shifter. But not so much though because the tighter you tighten it, the hard it is to put the car in gear.
If tightening it doesn't fix the issue, the bushings are probably bad. Instead of replacing the bushings, I suggest upgrading to newer DC integra linkage, you will love it.
its sounds like a motor mount is going to out my cousins integra had the same problem his bottom leftby the tranny went out and it felt loose in all gears like it was in neutral.
Did you check to see if you have the 94+ clutch in your cable trans? The splines on the 94+ are larger and if you put a disc for the 94+ in a 90-93 then the input shaft spins inside the disc. It is "close enough" that if its in the air it will spin the tires, but whenever you put load on it, it will slip.
